rebus

did i say am fat?
okay, in case u dun hear me correct, i am legally 18 kgs fatter than my pre-preggie weight or my pre-wed mass.

18!
once i announced to The Husband and he tried (profusely) not so shocked.
then later he asked "do you feel heavy?"
Of course i am!
*pout*

you see, among all the many reasons contributed generously to my...*cough* fleshy-me is his fault! bley?
i blame him for my excess eating.
i blame him for not stopping me enjoy good food.
and i can always blame him for sweet talk right? nevermind if it's not true but us woman we like to hear 'em kan? heh

just one thing for sure i'd never blame him for having our little Jr, tho clearly it was how i started develop these lovely lemaks. huhu

so i told him i want to watch my diet.
first step : reduce oil intake.
NO LESS fried-food, MORE boils or grill, MORE water and fibre.
tengok le boleh bertahan sampai bila. haha

Today i browsed for rebus-rebus menu when i found this simple recipe. It's easy, instant and i bet sedap.
It is so called Asam Pedas Rebus. hehe...macam tak surprise pun kan?
Anyway I try out just now it just take less than 30 mins to get ready.
So i guess this simple menu is going to top my list of family menu from now.
Next i will try to master Singgang Ikan. Wht do you call eh, but i know we kelantanese just love this singgang meal.

Come let's share your rebus-rebus recipes here, you are much appreciated.
:)

cross1ng the line

We had had this regular talk casually, of late it is almost about same topic.
About new year, new plan, or rather new hope.
I mean Me & The Husband.

I think it's very common that most of us want to make new resolution (at least) for the coming new year, every year, for a refresh start i suppose.

I learned from The Husband that new year is very important marking point for them, according to their culture. Almost as significant as our Hari Raya celebration. (tho i'm pretty sure it's different perception)
They observed Public Holidays for a week, if i'm not mistaken starting from Dec 27.
They will gather at home and cleaning up the house make ready for new beginning. They believe all the past year "dirts" should be cleaned off.
And culturally they "celebrate" new year at home, in very moderate mood. Home-cooked foods prepared for at least the first 3 days and they would try to limit spending money during this period. Bcos they believe the way they live in during this starting of the year will reflects (somehow) their daily life through the year. So they try to make it simple and moderate. Without unnecessary expenses.

Anyway, so far we (me) never follow tht rule. Perhaps that could explains my saving plan failure so far. Hehe

So this time around again we talked about our current year and future.

The Husband sounds quite optimistic about his job, nevermind at least he wants to plan which i found it has been lacking off of his agenda for some years now.
Perhaps my turnaround decision this year has triggered his mind somehow. No doubt he feels some increase of responsibility.
I feel pity for him sometimes. But we both have agreed, this could be the best for us. I hope so.

Sometimes I could not believe myself that i've turned into new direction this year, completely. Something I had dream of some time ago but little did I expect I could make it real.

"Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." - as quoted in Forr3st Gump

agak keciwa

Many many times i tried to make myself understand and get prepared (sort of) about many many many problems, obstacles, cobaan, dugaan, etc..i mean those negative feedback shall coming on my new journey.
Yet, i'm quite dissappointed sometimes. Not always, but sometimes.
Maybe bcos i still reserved somewhat sensitive spot right in my heart and it responds when i have trouble dealing with kaum sebangsa, specifically.

Last week a supplier failed to turn up for regular delivery. I called him many times, sms days and nights, he kept on posponed appointments and finally i got the message clearly when he not even answer my call nor reply my sms for blind reasons.
I dunno why. We had cash term all right. I paid for every purchase without fail.
So I cant understand, the least he could do is answer my call and say that he needs to terminate the deal, that's all. That simple. But he didnt.
And somehow it hit my sensitive spot because he is kaum sebangsa.
I tot we should help, honest to each other because we are kaum sebangsa.

Last friday I was doing my marketing job when I approached a pasar mini (with my brand new muka kering) and that cha-ya-nun-alif female kerani (confirmed not tokey, told by other worker) rejected me without even look at my face.
I dont feel bad at all. Not a little. I understand that's part of the risk. Being rejected.
It missed my sensitive spot.

Now I have been arranging for a new deal with an eager bukan-kaum-sebangsa who's interested to purchase halal meats for his newly opened restaurant.
Am very excited to start it off and take up new experience. I supposed to prepare a copy of halal cert certified by the manufacturer (?) and letter of intent issued by my company.
I've been chasing closely for the cert copy since last week because the deadline was few days back. I dun get the cert till this very minute. Calls, sms(es), promises and promises.
I feel bad.
What is so difficult to get it straight. For me a business is about honest and trust.
If you fail to offer those, you fail to gain the same.

first assignment

Last week, a day before we go back to my hometown for holiday, a day after my last day of employment phase, i tried to accomplish my first task as "suri rumah bertauliah". hehe

First assignment.
To re-arrange my tudung collection for re-use & recycle. Such a noble environment-friendly act, kononnya. But actually I really need to review, revise and reconsider my future budget. So that was the first move. Untuk kesedaran, I do not really need new purchase. I boleh pakai mana yang ada je, some more bukan nak pakai pegi opis pun kan, takde sape notice pun pakai yang lama. huk!

koleksi tudung cikMunn. *gulp*

koleksi tudung jaman dolu-dolu. jaman pakai scarf kecik, t-shirt kecik, ngan jeans.

And, did i mention? since i was preparing for my brand new phase, i've stopped purchase that skincare items and opted for much cheaper & affordable range instead.
And as the result, my skin looks much "younger". Segala hormon rumaja bermaharajalela. Jerawat tumbuh merata-rata dan sangat berleluasa. Amat lah saya tidak suka!

So I guess this is First Bill i got to pay for this new phase.
Anyway I hope I'm doing fine pretty soon, inshallah..

Nota kaki :
1. Petang tadi buat new haircut. Now perasan comell. :)
2. Besok ada appointment facial. Harus di sental segala kekotoran di muka. Tak kose dah.

pencen

i dunno how to describe my feeling. honestly.

dunno.

relief. perhaps.

another 2 days to go before i make my exit. (again)

anybody would share a good tip here :
how to tell your mom tht you are leaving your salary-job? merely in two days.
and btw, it's the 2nd phase exit. and shud be the last, hopefully.
*sigh*

marilah kita berhibur menenangkan hati.

When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

When I grew up, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

pleasant surprise – part 1

i always considered myself a nervous mom. i dont make good housework, i fail to prepare family activity schedules, i never read any parenting book to the last page. i missed those mommy thingy memorable milestones.
and i dont trim my only son's fingernails for almost 3 years, if i'm not mistaken.
i should've bag the badexamplemommy award easily.
*malu*

but today he made me a proud mom nevertheless. and i'm very surprised indeed.

okay, since we agreed to grant the bibik one month cuti-cuti indonesia, so i have to establish a new routine for us. (btw, we will renew bibik's contract as per hubby's approval. hehe)
so i looked for daycare place for Jr. deal done on last saturday and we supposed to start off by beginning next month. about 2 weeks before bibik's departure so kinda "transition period" for him. for us. (for ME, precisely)

and so being a nervous mom plus selfish at times, i decided to start off our brand new routine by today!
Because No. 1 : the sooner the better. (konon)
Because No. 2 : so bibik can help me out at kedai. so it is open from morning. so longer business hours, so more sales. (here's the selfish point of me)
Because No. 3 : i want to prepare my son for a good socialising skill. the sooner the better again. (konon)

so we did. i was pretty nervous about the scene. you know, being a homegrown-quite spoilt little fellow, i should never blame him for any unpleasant scene, namely first day at school.
so i tot i prepared. and briefed him (sort of) from last night.
i mentioned about school, about new friends, about standard introducing new student phrase line and so and so. so i guessed he got the message, somehow.

till this morning at school when i took him into the class (the living room) and other kids were minding their own stuff. some were watching tv (very close to the panel) when i tried to make my escape. I did at last when one of them (very thankful to him) took a ball and 'lured' Jr away.

Then I cried, down deep in my heart while made my way to breakfast and settled for 2 capati.
yes, two. one for breakfast and another for lunch. i am busy woman kan kononnya.

two hours later i made my first update-call to the cikgu. surprise surprise. "ummar okay. tadi nangis kejap je."
gulp.

the second call update, "dia baru bangun. tadi dah mandi. dia okay je. dah makan dah nasi goreng bekal tu"
gulp!

so there it goes. my Little Precious now a social buddy. Perhaps he has longed for this rather than just sitting at home watching PHDC and madagascar reruns countless times.

first bento.

budok skoloh!

iSV HALAL Avenue

So I was away from this blogland for quite some time again.

So I was running around, joking around, ups, also downs. Living.

So I missed the monthly routine too. But negatively conceive, still. Blame it to stress for unbalancing my dearly hormones, my mom's fav GP suggested.
(btw, she likes him simply bcos he's handsome)

Anyway.

So now iSV HALAL Avenue (formerly known as iShoppeVille FOOD MART) now offers more choices of halal products for everyone's convenience.

HALAGEL is the latest brand on our shelf.
We have almost all of their product and representing their label for this area.

One of the products;

"The use of gelatin has become increasingly important in almost all food products. This is due partly to the fact that edible gelatin is itself an excellent food characterized by a high content of instantly digestible protein in contrast to other emulsifying and firming agents. Halagel has come up with Halagel® Gelatin in economy Pack for household use. The gelatin can be used to prepare various types of food desserts such as jelly desserts, cheese cake, yogurt and many more."

Note : Shop Owners / individuals with business interest are also welcomed to contact me.

this girl is the mom's (much) younger version.
:)

i just wonder, my prince charming will start blogging at what age.

PUAS dan PUASA

First note : I missed many special events to blog about. I may write 'em down later, or in future.

Current Note :
First Ramadhan
My first experience breakfasting on 1st day Ramadhan un-deluxe-ly.
It was accidentally unprepared.
the Husband thought I would buy some tapau foods from Pasar Ramadhan nearby.
I imagined he prepare our simple dinner or anything edible enuff to contain our hunger tummy.
We both did not. Last minute adhoc cooked foods failed too.
Lesson # 1 :
Never ever anticipate your fasting husband to prepare homecooked dinner.
And, you may just close the shop earlier. It's fasting month anyway. People wont knock the door to buy frozen chicken at 7PM, bah!

Second Ramadhan
Left the shop a bit early, 15 mins before 7.
Tapau foods from Pasar Ramadhan tho earlier I planned to cook nasi lemak with Ayam Organik (promo) goreng berempah.
So it turn out tapau nasi lemak instead.
Lesson # 2 :
If you craved for some certain meal, never ever subsitute your craving for tapau version.
The nasi is mentah. I chewed beras.
The sambal masin.
The ayam goreng is garing diluar, mentah di dalam. Erk!
And, the asam boi drink taste JBA freshwater.
Ewww...

Third Ramadhan
I imagining home cooked nasi lemak again.

Selamat Berpuasa. Dan selamat memuaskan selera kita.
erk!

lagu comel

let's take a sweet time on this beautiful mellow friday.

p/s : besok i raya!
*wink*

dreamer’s creamer

what would you do if you have a sudden urge for double the risk?
would you, or would not.

i just did.

life is too short to regret. take it and "endure" the pleasure (and pain)

if one is too simple, two is thriller.

quote of the day,
"People can be divided into three groups:
those who make things happen,
those who watch things happen,
and those who wonder what happened."

bangsa kita bangsa beradat.
biar betul caranya, sedap di mata sedap di telinga.
pepatah org tua "kerana mulut badan binasa"

pepatah haku sendiri
"binakan diri kita sendiri dulu sebelum kita sebok nak membina org lain"

ngerti?

:P

telus

it takes me to wonder, how much we can take a direct statement.
or loosely translated "cakap direct, tak berlapik".

i dun want to consider cakap tak berlapik into insulting category, but the heart-effect almost to that such level for me.

once my good advisor opinions hers;
we should not take that every words into our level of consideration. different upbringing resulted different manners.
she's right.

yet, occasionally i have to make extra efforts whenever deals with such cakap tak berlapik people. and now it takes to much extras when the matters should be observed "business-ly".
*sigh*

06 August 2008

when a simple gesture make wonders

being (aptly says "working") half & half takes some extra tolls, i think.
or perhaps while doing some mental-adjustment concurrently with a new project ongoing, it doesn't help to make the schedules any lighter.

I used to stretch my waking hours to AM clock since last 6 months. Am not complaining (tho it surely stressful at times) but i enjoyed my new journey.
So I thought when i start doing it half now, job & business, i'd spend more time for me & the loved ones. But it's not a direct result apparently.

Thanks for the dearest hubby for his super understanding my needs. At least he's taking over the task to get Jr to sleep every night precisely at 10. The Jr is undertaking samurai regime since past few months i could say. Once in a while he'd against the order, but the rest he's getting tuned in.

Last night about 3 am, whilst i was working thru my latest business updates in between sipping the green tea to keep me awake, suddenly the door at next room croaking apart. Instantly i turned to tht direction but nothing was about. So I decided to make a lift to check it out, upon reaching the door I caught his silhoutte behind. I reached his arms when he immediately shut the door behind me and pulled my arms to him effortlessly. I let my tiring body rest beside him. So much I felt better.
Then suddenly i realised, I spend lesser time for him lately. And he always try his best to win my attention. Shouting is one his major trick.
Then I had the guilty pang deep inside. I took my son to sacrifice for me.

Today somebody asked me, how's my new life treating me. More time for my family?
Nope.
It's still a long way to harvesting season. And i'm picking up along the way.

04 August 2008

31, just another number?

i love surprises. but only the good ones.
(am not an isolated case here for sure)
*wink*

when i finally decided to leave my so-called professional seat, i surprised many.
nobody could believe i retire for my family at my tender age of sweet early 30.
i did surprise too. i hit my target nine years earlier. perhaps 40 is too late for me.

four years ago when i made clear to my family about me & now-husband relationship, it was a private tsunami hit my mother, personally. and turbulence for my other family cliques and close friends.
i did not much surprise then. if i were at their shoes, i would say the same too.

now when i'm living my dream again, surprises are more delightful.

i'd never expect that 31 is my turning point.
turn 31 years old on 31st July, i feel blessed all over me again.
i have my beautiful family, i have my own hobby-job (as my husband referred to), and now i'll have my own "offline shop" coming soon.

Life is beautiful. Appreciate it at your every bit.

30 July 2008

first day

Bismillahirrahmanirrahiim...

Today is my first day, officially a full time home maker and full time business owner.
What a conflict you might say. Anyway I'm not sure what to expect, emotionally i mean. But so far, up to this moment, I dun feel any kind of different feeling, just yet.

Just hope this transition period will treat me fine.

I could say, prepare yourself for a more "mines" from now on.

* Lessons for Today *
If you think you can handle your another2months-to-turn-3yrsold SON, think about it again.
Stay with him for one whole sweet morning, you may "enjoy" the surprises.
